1980 C3 Corvette, radio and cigarette lighter won't work?
My friend has a 1980 C3 Corvette and he says that the radio and cigarette lighter used to work.
I've checked the fuses under the steering wheel and they're all fine. Also, the motorized antenna won't go back down now either.
I'm mechanically proficient, and I did a top-end performance swap for him earlier this year, but I have no idea where to begin looking for the culprit of this problem.

Could be the fuse socket. Check out if the fuse sits well firm in its socket. Or it might be the ground wire. To see if it's the ground wire, you can get a kind of thick wire and connect it to the stereo's external metallic body, or even easier, you can connect it to the negative of the cigarette plug, which is the circular part, NOT THE CENTER TIP. But I don't recommend the second choice, unless you make sure the wire doesn't touch the positive (center) of the cigarette plug. Then connect the wire to a naked metallic part of the car's body (or you can try with the metallic place where you stick the ignition key in the steering column), and try to see if this solves the problem. If it does, the ground wire that connects to the stereo and cigarette lighter might be cut or loose. Email me if you want me to help you with that, as it will need some 2 ways Qs & As.
